Stettler Regional Board of Trade & Community Development announces changes to upcoming events
Due to COVID-19 the Stettler Regional Board of Trade looks at alternative options for upcoming events
With the announcement on April 23, 2020 from Dr. Hinshaw prohibiting gatherings over 15 people throughout the summer, The Stettler Regional Board of Trade & Community Development has re-evaluated their upcoming events. The safety of the public is always priority and is ever more important as the world faces the COVID-19 pandemic. In response:
The 2020 Stettler Trade Show has been cancelled with plans already in progress to celebrate the 40th anniversary in April 2021
The 2020 Parade, previously set for June, has been postponed until the fall of 2020
The Taste of the Heartland has been cancelled for 2020 with intentions to bring the event back in August 2021
"It is with great regret that we have had to cancel or postpone the events for the Stettler Board of Trade this year however our main concern is that we all stay home and stay healthy. Our goal remains to help each other and our local businesses through these uncertain times and our thoughts are with you all as we endeavour this new path. We look forward to seeing you again in the near future with bigger and better occasions to celebrate” stated Donna Morris, project manager. The Stettler Regional Board of Trade & Community Development staff will be contacting all current vendors as well as individuals who have purchased tickets to issue a refund.
The Stettler Regional Board of Trade & Community Development encourages and supports businesses to be responsive to change through consultation, advice, funding, economic development and cultivation of entrepreneurs. The events have played an important part in building community and highlighting our local industries. The Board of Trade will continue to look for new and re-imagined opportunities to support the business community.
