Heartland Beautification Committee's Green Tip of the Week

GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK

"No more butt flicks”

Trillions of cigarette butts are “flicked” to the ground every year,

where they leach nicotine and heavy metals.  Cigarette filters are made

from cellulose acetate, a plastic.  These filters become microplastic

pollution that is harmful to plants and animals and gets into our food

chain.  Instead of “flicking”, carry a portable ashtray.

No one can do everything.  Everyone can do something.
