Shop $20 on the 20th

All Day

Location: Stettler, Alberta

It’s back! The Stettler Board of Trade is once again inviting the community to take part in Shop $20 on the 20th on Saturday, September 20th. This simple initiative has a big impact: by each of us spending just $20 locally on the 20th, we collectively help strengthen our businesses, support jobs, and keep our community thriving.

Why Shop Local?

  • Every dollar stays close to home – Studies show that for every $100 spent locally, up to $68 stays in the community.
  • Support local jobs – From retail to restaurants to services, your dollars help employ your friends and neighbors.
  • Boost community investment – Local businesses are the ones sponsoring kids’ sports teams, events, and fundraisers. Shopping local helps them give back.
  • Unique finds & personal service – Stettler businesses offer products and experiences you can’t find anywhere else, with customer service that feels like home.

Why Businesses Should Join In

  • Showcase your products – Highlight special promotions, feature new arrivals, or create a $20 special for the day.
  • Connect with shoppers – Use this day to thank your customers and remind them of the value of supporting local.
  • Be part of a community-wide movement – The more businesses that get involved, the bigger the impact we can make together.

Whether it’s a one-day discount, a creative bundle, or a fun $20-themed offer, your participation helps bring the community together and keeps shopping dollars local.

Let us help you promote your Shop $20 on the 20th special! We’re creating a Facebook event to showcase all your sales, specials, and discounts in one convenient place for shoppers. This is your chance to reach more customers and make your deals easy to find.

The event will be promoted widely, so don’t miss out! If you’re unsure how to post your offers to the event page, we’re here to help. Simply call 403-742-3181 or email info@stettlerboardoftrade.com for guidance.

Shop & Win on September 20th!

When you support local during Shop $20 on the 20th, you’ll not only be making a difference—you could also win big!

Anyone who makes a purchase of a non-essential item on September 20th can snap a quick photo of their receipt or their shopping experience and submit it for a chance to win $200 in Heart of Alberta Dollars.

Heart of Alberta Dollars can be spent just like cash at a wide range of local businesses—stretching your support for the community even further.

How to Enter

  1. Shop local on September 20th and purchase a non-essential item.
  2. Take a photo (your receipt, your purchase, or a fun shopping selfie).
  3. Submit your photo entry at www.stettlerboardoftrade.com for your chance to win!

It’s that simple—shop, snap, and submit. One lucky winner will walk away with $200 in Heart of Alberta Dollars, all while helping keep our community strong.
